It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.
It is by the Beans of Java that thought acquires speed,
the hands acquire shaking,
the shaking is a warning.
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.
In the begining, there was Enigma. And the users of Enigma saw that it was good. But those who needed to know what Enigma hid saw that it was bad - very bad. And thus they created the Bombe, and saw that it was good. The sea-faring users of Enigma knew that it was good, but also knew that it could be better and thus was born the Four Rotor Enigma. For the makers of the Bombe, this was a bad thing. Their friends across the pond created their own Bombe to crack the Four Rotor Enigma, and it was very good indeed. From the clicking and whirring of the Bombes, to vacuum tubes, to transistors, the Machine was born. And yea, the machine has changed the world.
I have known the Machine for many, many years. From the days they took up whole rooms, to today with vastly more power in the palm of your hand. I was speaking with the machine before most of today's users were born. I am old. Older than time() itself.
But I remember. . .
